Founded in 2020 and developed in 2021, Retort Charcoal Producers reached full production in 2022. Developed as a greenfield project by Carbon Capital (Pty) Ltd. Our production site is the single largest and most modern charcoal producer in Namibia.

At the helm of this initiative is a team of ambitious young Namibians, dedicated to advancing the charcoal industry and leading the way towards a more modern, sustainable and ethical industry. Our highly experienced Board of Directors exemplify our unwavering commitment to sound governance, best business and legal practices, and a developmental focus.
Our operational excellence is marked by three high-capacity retort systems that operate continuously, overseen by a team of skilled technicians. This ensures the highest quality and consistency from our carbonisation process. Utilizing invasive hardwood species, predominantly Acacia, we carbonise at temperatures beyond 650 degrees Celsius, ensuring a product with high fixed carbon and low volatiles.

This encompasses wood harvesting from surrounding areas, centralized and efficient carbonization, accurate grading in line with market demands, and quality-driven packaging. With a dedicated logistics partners, we are poised to serve international markets, all while prioritizing environmentally responsible, low-emission practices in our production processes.
